Sheffield Wednesday vs Bristol City Live Stream Predictions & Betting Tips, Match Previews

Sheffield Wednesday are hoping to complete back-to-back home wins in the Championship as they take on Bristol City.

Sheffield Wednesday will be hoping their 2-1 win weekend win against Wigan will be the springboard for their season as it never really got going prior to the international break. In Steven Fletcher and Fernando Forestieri they have potentially one of the best strike-forces in the division and both players were on target on Saturday. They showed good spirit to come back having fallen behind in only the 5th minute and they’ll be hoping to firmly banish memories of disappointing losses against Burton and Leeds last month into the past with another win here.

Bristol City though will provide tough opposition. The loss of last season’s top scorer Jonathan Kodjia to Aston Villa was a blow but in 18 year old Tammy Abraham they have found someone who also knows his way to goal. The striker scored his 6th goal since joining the club to help the Robins come from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Rotherham at the weekend so they should come into this game in good spirits although they may regret missing chances that might have landed them all 3 points in that game.

3 days later and just a few miles up the road, they aren’t likely to find the Owls defence as charitable as Rotherham’s was or Aston Villa’s for that matter, who they beat 3-1 in their previous game. That weekend win will have done Sheffield Wednesday an enormous amount of good and when you consider they have lost just 2 of their last 24 Championship home games and have won four of their last five, the Owls look like the most likely winners here.

Bristol City have been a bit hit and miss so far and their only away win in the last 7 in the league was at Burton and wasn’t really deserved so backing Sheffield Wednesday to Win at Evens looks to offer the best value here.

Head To Head
Bristol City won 4-1 when the hosted the Owls in April. They've also won on 4 of their last 6 visits to Hillsborough but were beaten 2-0 here last season.

Stats
Wednesday have won 10 of their 16 competitive home games in 2016. Bristol City have kept just 1 clean sheet in their last 14 Championship matches.
