Canada vs Cuba
CONCACAF Gold Cup 2019
Date: Sunday, 23rd June 2019
Kick off at 23:00 UK / 00:00 CET
Venue: Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte).

Form Canada & Team News

Canada started their Gold Cup campaign with a 4-0 win against Martinique at the Rose Bowl Stadium. Jonathan David scored before the first half, adding again after the break with Junior Hoilett and Scott Arfield wrapping up a convincing victory.

The Canucks found it harder against Mexico's tournament favorites, but were in the match at Mile High Stadium before falling to a 3-1 defeat. Striker Lucas Cavallini made it 2-1 in the 75th minute, but Andres Guardado sealed it for Mexico two minutes later.

Manager John Herdman can bring striker Jonathan David back to the first team after his brace against Martinique. Herdman made six changes against Mexico and chose to return to five, hoping to see Canada return to four back here and continue the attack.

The chance to win Canada is too short to be supported to defeat Cuba, which means the disabled market is playing. Canada currently pays 2.30 on the 4th handicap market, with Cuba conceding more than 6 goals in four of the last seven Gold Cup matches I want to follow.

Can pay to see the composition of confirmed players before betting on the market's first goalscorer or at any time. Keep an eye on Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich at the market whenever he hasn't scored in the Gold Cup.

Form Cuba & Team News

Cuba were destroyed 7-0 in the opening match of the Gold Cup against Mexico at the Rose Bowl Stadium. They went down 4-0 in the first half and did not do much better in the second half after failing to register shots on goal throughout the match.

The Lions had an easier task against Martinique but fell to a 3-0 defeat at Mile High Stadium. Raúl Mederos's side were slightly better at holding the ball and creating chances but they still lost the count of the 19-4 shot, and it could have been worse with Martinique driver Kévin Parsemain losing a penalty.

Right-back Erick Rizo was sent off and suspended which meant Lionis Martínez might return to the first team. Raúl Mederos's manager has a limited squad and can be tempted to provide peripheral players such as Alejandro Portal and Reynaldo Pérez.

Cuba is a big outsider at 50.00 and can be supported to get a remarkable draw at 20.00. Good luck with that. Cuba on the +4 handicap market pays 2.00 which is a more realistic option.

Canadian vs Cuba prediction

Victory for Cuba against Canada on Sunday is quite a lot of questions.

With five consecutive defeats in all competitions, Raul Medero's forces have struggled to get back to winning ways for a while. It has also been a long time since the team managed to get their name on their score sheet, after failing to find the back of the net in one of the previous four matches.

John Herdman's side were defeated by Mexican troops in the previous match and would definitely look for opportunities to redeem themselves. Aside from the recent defeat, his troops were very impressive in the previous match, opening the possibility of winning against their peers on Sunday.

The latter is unlikely to find the back of the goal while winning, three points and the possibility of clean sheets tend to swing in favor of Canada.
