PSV Eindhoven vs Sporting Lisbon Match Preview
Sporting Lisbon have struggled for consistency and their time in points 1-1 Boavista to such a request and, as they failed to rebound on how to win after seeing a home defeat at Rio Ave (2-3) before the international break. They now travel to Eindhoven looking to put behind them and cause an upset at Philips Stadion, desperate for a pick-me-up.
Leoes saw just one away win this term when they beat Portimonense (1-3), saw a 1-1 draw at Maritimo, and suffered a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Benfica in their clash Super Cup. They were conceding goals on the regular and will obviously need more to cause a surprise here, as rivals seem to be in a much better place.
Indeed, PSV came into the match on the back of a winning streak of five matches, including Eredivisie comfortable wins over Heracles (0-2), RKC Waalwijk (1-3) and speed (5-0) and smooth sailing against Apollo in the Europa League play-offs (7-0 overall). They were impressive before and Mark van Bommel want more of the same.
Donyell Malen offset the five goals against Vitesse weekend and boosted its total to eight in the last five outings through competition, which promises the young in a good mood and lead the line once again. Boeren will surely be very motivated to impress in the final third and we hope to see goals again.
