Match Preview and Betting Tips.

Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City will play a highly important match in the battle for avoiding the relegation on Monday afternoon at Ewood Park. Both sides managed to claim huge points on Friday and this might well be one of the most important games of the season for both Tony Mowbray and Lee Johnson. The Riversiders lead the head to head tie by four wins, but Bristol took a narrow 1-0 win in the last meeting between the two teams in the first part of this term of Championship.

Blackburn ended their dismal streak of three consecutive wins with the victory over Nottingham Forest on Friday afternoon at The City Ground. It was their center back Thomas Hoban who as highest in the air after a set piece to make the difference and score the only goal of the game. The Rovers, however, still have troubles with their strikers’ efficiency because the team netted only a single goal in three matches prior to the win over the Reds.

As for Bristol City, it is pretty hard to explain their results from the last couple of weeks. The Robins took two wins in confident displays against Wigan Athletic and Huddersfield Town before suffering inexplicable losses to Brentford and Preston North End with the goal difference of 0-7. The last two rounds, however, saw the team coming back to Ashton Gate where they took back-to-back victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers.

It is really hard to say which of the two sides is closer to grabbing the much-needed victory. We’d give slight advantage to the hosts because Bristol have been unconvincing on the road where they failed to find the back of the net in three of their last four outings.

Blackburn vs Bristol City: Head to Head Stats

In the reverse fixture earlier this season Bristol City won 1-0. Blackburn have not lost to Bristol City at the Ewood Park since 1990, however the two clubs have only played each other here since then 4 times. The last time they played here the score ended 2-2.

Blackburn vs Bristol City: Prediction

Not an easy game to predict but we will go with the home team to get the points. They are long overdue a win and are playing a team that don’t travel well and have the same level as them. Home win here.
