Preview of MK Dons vs Lincoln City Match

Lincoln has lived in League One like a duck in the water and will try to maintain their perfect league and cup record this season when they visit Milton Keynes.

The Imps has become one of the great success stories in recent years in English football, rising from the National League to the third tier and reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals under manager Danny Cowley - who is clearly not ready to accept what the club has achieved.

Cowley has become one of the most sought after young coaches and clearly has a design in the Championship, judging by the way his Lincoln team started the season with a trio of wins to zero against Accrington, Rotherham and Southend.

And just for a good measure, they also kept a clean sheet in bringing down Huddersfield from the Carabao Cup on their own pitch, helping to speed up the departure of their opposing manager Jan Siewert.

Now Lincoln travels to MK Dons, who were promoted with them last season and began this time with a 1-0 home win over Shrewsbury, before losing narrowly at Wycombe on Saturday after playing only two matches because the game against troubled Bury was delayed.

The question is how long can Lincoln maintain their fantastic form? This will be a difficult test and although the Cowley team won at this venue in April, MK Dons are generally strong at home and they look capable of being the first team to defeat the visitors this season.

GAME ANALYSIS

Lincoln won 2-0 at Stadium Stadium in League 2 just four months ago but despite that defeat, MK Dons are unbeaten in their last seven home games and conceded only two goals in that time. High flying Imps has not yet recognized this term at all so at least one clean sheet is seen as possible.

Forecast

MK Dons, who have only suffered four defeats at the MK Stadium in their last 24 league matches, have made a diverse start to returning to the third tier, losing one and winning the other. Don only lost two of his previous eight matches against Lincoln, even though both came in the last two meetings.

Lincoln's debut season in League One was getting stronger and their win against Southend on Saturday pushed them to the top of League One. The Imps will be a heavy favorite to extend their win here, especially considering they haven't conceded in six hours in all competitions this season

Prediction:
Milton Keynes Don 0: 2 Lincoln
