They have yet to find a replacement for the popular German boss though people like Ian Burchnall and DC United's Ben Olsen has been linked with the vacancy. Although they have yet to collect three points since the opening weekend of the campaign, Barnsley have improved under Adam Murray and has held Swansea and Derby to draw during their last few games here.
Cauley Woodrow double helped them secure an unlikely point at the Hawthorns as well a few weeks ago and they showed more adventurous small forward at this time. Unfortunately, their inability to keep clean sheets and their propensity for defensive big mistake has left them stranded at the bottom of the table.
Bristol City continued to be a bit inconsistent this season and dropped more points at Ashton Gate on Sunday afternoon. They twice conceded to Wigan, with defender Chey Dunkley popping up to fire past Robin porous defense. Johnson lee side only been defeated on two occasions this season and is very hard to beat, but now only one clean sheet in their last six games.
They have been strong on the road with a 3-3-1 record so far and they will fancy their chances of leaving South Yorkshire with something to show for their efforts.
PREDICTION Barnsley vs Bristol City
Rock-bottom Barnsley is not shy in front of goal but they conceded too much in the back and looks in trouble because they are four points adrift of safety. Bristol City away record has been shaky of late, but they will have enough here to beat the Tykes, although the hosts had to score.
