Novak Djokovic vs Hubert Hurkacz Preview and Prediction Grand Slam. Wimbledon Friday , 5 July , 2019

Novak Djokovic vs. Hubert Hurkacz

So far it has run smoothly for defending champions Novak Djokovic. The Serbian came to London disappointed at the French Open. He tried to win both the Roland Garros and Nole-Slam titles (if he wins, he has held all four Slam titles at once, though not in the same calendar year). The world number one was sent pack by Dominic Thiem in the semifinals, thus ending his quest. Based on his performance in London so far, he seems to have bounced back well. Djokovic scored a straight-set direct win over Philipp Kohlschreiber and Denis Kudla in his first two rounds.

His opponent in the third round was Hubert Hurkacz who was on the rise. At the beginning of 2019, Hurkacz still spends some of his time on the Challenger circuit. Success during the spring hardfield swing has given him enough boost ratings so he rarely needs to qualify for the tournament again. He hasn't had fantastic success in the department so far, so that's good news for Pole that he is in the third round. The bad news is that his opponent is Djokovic.

Djokovic dismantled Hurkacz last month in the first round of the French Open. Given all the Wimbledon titles, it is doubtful that Hurkacz will reduce the favorite grass game.

Caroline Wozniacki vs Shuai Zhang Preview and Prediction Grand Slam. Wimbledon Friday , 5 July , 2019

Wozniacki

ollowover was very comfortable in the first half against Sara Sorribes Tormo, Wozniacki faced his first real test against Veronika Kudermetova in the second round. The match was demanding from Denmark, who won the first set with a very thin difference in the tie-break.

The 14th seed found his rhythm in the second set when he got a break early in the match. After that, it was a fairly easy trip to win for the former US Open runner-up. Overall, the match lasts for one hour and 49 minutes.

Dane has the same problem this season because of an injury. The loss of form is due to bringing it out of the top 10 and now, it aims to return to the rhythm once again. His best run came in Charleston where he was runner-up. However, this was followed by successive defeats in Madrid, Rome and Paris in the first round.

Zhang Hopes

At present double No. 9, Zhang has had a phenomenal time on the double circuit, including winning the women's doubles title at the Australian Open and reaching the final in Miami with Samantha Stosur.

However, on a single circuit, the winning record is 13-15. Most of the wins came in the 125K Series at Anning, where he reached the final. That was the only highlight of the season, when Zhang followed the spell with the first round out in Madrid, Rome and Strasbourg.

Even on grass, he got the same results in Nottingham and Mallorca. However, at Eastbourne, he made it to the third round before falling to Alize Cornet.

Fortunately, Zhang managed to maintain that momentum at Wimbledon, starting with a direct victory over Caroline Garcia. Following the victory, he moved past Belgian qualifier Yanina Wickmayer 6-3, 6-2. The two-time winner of the Guangzhou Open now faces a hard test against Wozniacki.
Wozniacki v Zhang Prediction & Tip

This will be an interesting match to follow. Zhang is a strong opponent who is able to provide some quality results while Wozniacki is still on track to find the plot. It won't be surprising if this one becomes three sets.

Forecast

The favorite for Tennis Tonic is Caroline Wozniacki who must win in 2 sets.

Betting odds
Caroline Wozniacki -> 1.33
Shuai Zhang -> 3.40

Elina Svitolina vs Maria Sakkari Preview and Prediction Grand Slam. Wimbledon Friday , 5 July , 2019

Wimbledon 2019 live streaming, tournament information, schedules and more
Sakkari wanted to go into the fourth round at Wimbledon for the first time in his career, having equaled the previous best record by reaching the third round. The only time he did the third in his three other visits was in 2017, when he defeated Czech pair Karolina Pliskova and Kristyna Pliskova before falling to Johann Konta's favorite home.

The 23-year-old made a third round without dropping a set, beating Bernarda Pera 7-6 6-3 in the first round, and Marie Bouzkova 6-4 6-1 in the second round.

Sakkari has a slow start to the year, with 3-6 in the hardcourt season. Two of the three wins came at the Australian Open, where he reached the third round, while there were four exits in the opening round.

However, his wealth is far better on clay, when he opened with a quarter-final in Charleston. He then claimed his first career title at Rabat, and contested the semi-finals in Rome. He will be very disappointed because he lost to Katerina Siniakova at Roland Garros, because he is in good condition.

Sakkari played three pre-Wimbledon warm-up tournaments on the grass, making the quarter-finals in Nottingham and the second round at Eastbourne, on both sides of the opening round exit in Birmingham. Not the most inspiring grass field number leading to Wimbledon, but on closer inspection, he faced some very strong players at the start of Osaka at Birmingham and Konta at Eastbourne.

He had started well at Wimbledon, and would try to defend it when he played Svitolina for the first in the third round.

This must be an interesting contest between the same two players who do not have the raw power to blow up others off the field, but rely more on athleticism and their ability to overcome the opponent's maneuver to win the match.

Sakkari is naturally more aggressive than the two contestants, and that could be a difference on Friday.

Men's French Open final preview: Stanislas Wawrinka vs Rafael Nadal -Grand Slam Tournament Match at Saturday, 27th May 2017

This match is, theoretically, a blockbuster. Rafael Nadal is 9-0 in French Open finals; Stan Wawrinka is 3-0 in Grand Slam finals. Rafa is the best ever on clay, but over the last three years Stan had made himself into one of the game’s premier big-match players. Nadal is 15-3 against Wawrinka, but Stan has beaten (an injured) Rafa in a major final, and has also beaten him on clay. Most important, if anyone has the shots to hit Nadal off the court, it’s Wawrinka. Rafa hasn’t dropped a set in six matches in Paris, and he has looked all but invincible so far. But Wawrinka upset Novak Djokovic when he looked all but invincible at this stage of the tournament two years ago.

Still, I say “theoretically” because many of us believed that Nadal’s semifinal with Dominic Thiem might also be a classic. Instead, Rafa lost seven games in three sets. That could happen with Stan, too; Nadal’s unbeaten record in Roland Garros finals shows that once he gets on a roll there, he’s basically impossible to stop. But Rafa will have to play well, and intelligently, to win. This year his serve has become more of a bailout weapon, and he’ll need to vary it well against Wawrinka. In the semis, Nadal also unveiled an aggressive new down-the-line backhand; can he make that work for him again, or will he add a different wrinkle to get Stan out of his groove?

For Wawrinka, the battle may be mental above all else. He has made himself a Grand Slam champion by playing like someone who believes he can beat anyone, including Djokovic; when he falls behind at majors, as he did against Andy Murray in his semifinal, Wawrinka fights tooth and nail until the end.

Will he do that if he falls behind against Nadal? Will he believe that he should beat the king of clay, on his favorite court? If there’s even the slightest doubt, he won’t.

4-RAFAEL NADAL (Spain) v 3-STAN WAWRINKA (Switzerland)

HEAD TO HEAD

Nadal leads Wawrinka 15-3.

Nadal leads Wawrinka 5-1 on clay.

SCHLINK SAYS

Convention insists Nadal beats Wawrinka tonight but Wawrinka is the most unconventional player in the game. Fearless and in form, he has a massive chance - but only a severe attack of nerves can bring Nadal undone.
